The Shunt #2
Now Called
DUNTHINKIN
Dunthinkin was originally known as the ‘Shunt’ it was designed as a
puzzle shunting layout, but showing it at an exhibition was problematic,
it was difficult to run and very time consuming.
So the decision was made to make it more exhibition friendly by adding an external
loop and a couple of extra sidings, it is now much easier to use and allows for
more time to talk to people.
The layout has been made using as many off the shelf products as possible
to show what can be achieved by anyone who would like to have a go at this
great hobby we are a part of.
It is based loosely around a British Great
Western branch line of the late forties early fifties, so you will see many and
varied liveries of motive power displayed.

 The
shunt is progresing well and is nearing completion in rediness for
shows in the coming year this is a view of the signal box and part of
the yard This is the level crossing, still a bit to be done but its shaping up nicely.
A couple of side views of the layout to give a broader picture
Dunthinkin winner of best scene by club vote at the stawell show 2011
