Fy Rheilffordd ychydig o Gymraeg
(My Little Welsh railway)
This is the story of the new 'Fictitious' O-16.5 Welsh slate railway I am Currently Building

The beginning of the layout           December 2011

Work begins in ernest in late march of 2012
Trying to figure out where it will all fit

Finally a decision is made and the final  track shape emerges at this stagemost of the track is laid and running except for the mine area which is still to come "I think"

Now I have reached a crossroads do I persue the O-16.5 welsh slate quarry theme or do I  change the look of the layout to an Australian mining theme, I have plenty of engines and Australian rolling stock also buildings ready to go. I will have to build almost all of what I need for the Welsh theme. What finally makes the decision is running the Australian rolling stock around the track a few times, It just does'nt look right, so its of to Wales we go.

So having made the decision and travelled to Wales and back via the internet over the next few nights  I pressed onward to the layout the lush green Welsh look
"I think"

I am now 2 1/2 months into the build with about 2 months to go before its first showing at Stawell

Hopefully It will look good enough to show allbeit still under construction and I still haven't modified the trailer yet!!!!!!!!!!

Well all the nessesary bits and pieces eventually got done and yes I did finish the modifications to the trailer, the show went well even though the layout is still under construction, here are some pictures showing how far I finally got before going to the show.

The Quarry end ! much work to be done here yet but at least most people knew it was a quarry.

An overall perspective

The village, still much to be done here but at least it looks like a village.

The Noarlunga Show September 2012

While there is still much to be done things are looking a little better!!
